Natural Gas Supplier Gives $1,000 Award to Local Dog Rescue

Crown Energy Services, Inc. Awards Julie Starr of Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue for The Great Giveback

As Buffalo is widely recognized as the “City of Good Neighbors”, we know that our region is filled with people who go the extra mile in their community to make a difference. Crown Energy Services, Inc. and WGRZ-TV Channel 2 have partnered together to recognize these individuals who are making a difference through a program called The Great Giveback.

To highlight their accomplishments and good deeds in the community, we were pleased to announce that the winner for the month of January 2015 of $1,000 in matching funds to its charitable organization is Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue.

Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue is a Kenmore / Buffalo based 501( c )3 organization that finds homeless, abused, and neglected shelter dogs forever homes. Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue was started by Julie Starr and her partner after rescuing a dog named Buddy from a high-kill shelter in West Virginia. After that, the shelter asked Julie to start fostering other dogs and suggested they started their own rescue. From there - Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue was born and has placed hundreds of dogs in forever homes.

Crown Energy Services, Inc. is a natural gas supplier in the WNY and Northwestern Pennsylvania areas. We buy natural gas from local landowners and producers and feed it directly into the pipes owned by National Fuel Gas to make its way to your home or business. We strongly believe in supporting the local community and doing whatever we can to help - that’s why this month’s Great Giveback winner goes to Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue.
